Hi folks,
I started a new blog series along the lines of "This month in Flink" to give a summary of the community activity for those that feel overwhelmed by the traffic in the mailing lists but would still like to follow what's happening in the project. Here is the first post I wrote with input from Stephan, Ufuk, Aljoscha, Robert, and Till: http://flink.apache.org/news/2015/01/06/december-in-flink.html Let me know if you'd like me to add something. Do you think it would make sense to create a separate mailing list along the lines of news@flink where we try to keep the traffic low (e.g., such summaries and important news)? Best, Kostas |
Hi Kostas,
Great post. I think it would be good to have an additional mailing list for news. For open source projects, it's pretty common to have an announce mailing list. In addition to the monthly newsletter we could also announce releases. @Stephan, could you try your newly minted role as Flink chair/ VP to
create announce@ list to test your karma? =) - Henry On Fri, Jan 9, 2015 at 7:27 AM, Robert Metzger <[hidden email]> wrote: > Our PMC Chair or a ASF member has to request a list: > https://infra.apache.org/officers/mlreq > > On Fri, Jan 9, 2015 at 4:25 PM, Kostas Tzoumas <[hidden email]> wrote: > >> Cool, does anyone know how we can do that with infra? >> >> On Fri, Jan 9, 2015 at 3:46 PM, Ufuk Celebi <[hidden email]> wrote: >> >> > On 09 Jan 2015, at 15:12, Max Michels <[hidden email]> wrote: >> > > I think it would be good to have an additional mailing list for news. >> > > For open source projects, it's pretty common to have an announce >> > > mailing list.
