In this job https://travis-ci.org/zentol/flink/jobs/298656917 the kafka E2E test failed straight away due to a missing class. The subsequent tests failed since they cannot allocate the JM port.

It is thus likely that the E2E tests do not shutdown the cluster in all failure cases.
