We recently created the Maven module {{flink-benchmark}} for micro-benchmarks and ported most of the existing micro-benchmarks to the Java benchmarking framework JMH. However, JMH is part of OpenJDK and under GPL license which is not compatible with the AL2.

Consequently, we need to remove this dependency and either revert the porting commits or port the benchmarks to another benchmarking framework. An alternative could be [Google's Caliper|https://github.com/google/caliper] library which is under AL2.
