The two interfaces {{CheckpointedFunction}} and {{CheckpointListener}} are used by many users, but are still (for years now) marked as {{@PublicEvolving}}.

I think this is not correct. They are very core to the DataStream API and are used widely and should be treated as {{@Public}}.
