In order to train SVMs, the machine learning library should be able to read standard SVM input file formats. A widespread format is used by libSVM and SMVLight which has the following format:

<line> .=. <target> <feature>:<value> <feature>:<value> ... <feature>:<value> # <info>
<target> .=. +1 | -1 | 0 | <float>
<feature> .=. <integer> | "qid"
<value> .=. <float>
<info> .=. <string>
