Flink streaming currently only supports a limited set of optimisations applied on the streaming programs such as operator chaining, and several optimisations for windowing computations.

The goal of this project would be to extend the  optimiser functionality to include other available query optimisation techniques. This would be a critical feature in the system as it could potentially bring major performance improvements depending on the query.
