[jira] [Created] (FLINK-13427) HiveCatalog's createFunction not work when function name is upper

Shang Yuanchun (Jira)
Jingsong Lee created FLINK-13427:
------------------------------------

             Summary: HiveCatalog's createFunction not work when function name is upper
                 Key: FLINK-13427
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-13427
             Project: Flink
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Connectors / Hive
            Reporter: Jingsong Lee
             Fix For: 1.9.0, 1.10.0

{code:java}
hiveCatalog.createFunction(
      new ObjectPath(HiveCatalog.DEFAULT_DB, "myUdf"),
      new CatalogFunctionImpl(TestSimpleUDF.class.getCanonicalName(), new HashMap<>()),
      false);

hiveCatalog.getFunction(new ObjectPath(HiveCatalog.DEFAULT_DB, "myUdf"));
{code}
There is an exception now:

{code:java}
org.apache.flink.table.catalog.exceptions.FunctionNotExistException: Function default.myUdf does not exist in Catalog test-catalog.

Seems there are some bugs in HiveCatalog when use upper.

Maybe we should normalizeName in createFunction...
